Balnarring is located on the southeastern Mornington Peninsula, Victoria’s Surf Coast, is a quaint town right in the heart of the action. Balnarring is a popular day trip from Melbourne and is located some 100 kilometres south of Melbourne. The town is a popular weekend getaway for Melburnians escaping the city and people from the surrounding towns and villages. Balnarring is home to the historic Balnarring Racecourse, which hosts the annual Balnarring Race Meeting each February. The race meeting is one of the biggest events in the horse racing calendar.

The town is also known for its beaches, wineries, orchards and numerous art galleries. Balnarring has a historical population of approximately 8,000 and is strategically located at the intersection of the Princes Highway and the Warburton Highway.
